Branding Methods

It is very important to select a correct decoration method for your brand logo, slogan, company name or advertising message onto your promotional products, the right method will bring up better effect for your marketing.

Pad Printing

Pad printing involves transferring ink from a silicone pad to the object you want printed. Using a machine that holds both the pad and the promotional product steady, the pad is pressed into an inked plate etched into the shape of your desired artwork. The pad is then pressed into the actual object, creating a crisp printed image. This imprinting method is fast, affordable and accurate, able to printing detailed art work and on most of irregular shape products, it is the common printing method for pens, USBs, stress toys and numerous other small promotional products.

Screen Printing

Screen printing is the process of transferring the image onto the products by ink squeegeed through a stencilled screen stretched over a frame. Screens have a layer of light-sensitive emulsion, then film positives are put in contact with the screens and exposed to light. The light hardens the emulsion not covered by the film, leaving a soft area on the screen for the squeegee to force ink through. Also called silk-screening. Decorative inks are available to make your logo or unique design really stand out. Screen printing is one of the most common full-colour branding methods used on most clothing and fabrics, however it does have its limitations. Time and cost of stencil set-up being one, another is that highly detailed artwork and effects such as shading and gradients are often difficult to achieve.

Laser Engraving

Laser engraving is the practice of using lasers to engrave, mark a “laserable” material and cut a variety of materials which offer very precise and clean engravings at a high rate. Laserable materials include wood, anodized aluminum, glass, laserable plastics, acrylic, leather, and rubber. This form of branding suits simple artwork designs of single colour. Some gradient effects can also be achieved.

4CP Digital Direct Printing

Digital Direct Printing is one of the modern imprinting methods such as laser and ink-jet printing are known as digital printing. In digital printing, an image is sent directly to the printer using digital files such as PDFs and those from graphics software such as Illustrator and InDesign. This imprinting method can save money and time by eliminating the need for a printing plate, which is used in offset printing. Digital Direct Printing has brought about fast turnaround times and printing on demand. Instead of having to print large, pre-determined runs, requests can be made for as little as one print. While offset printing still often results in slightly better quality prints, digital methods are being worked on at a fast rate to improve quality and lower costs.

4CP Digital Transfer

A 4CP Digital Transfer is a way of producing full-color designs, which are too complex to be screen printed, for application onto garments, caps or bags via a heat process. The required image is printed onto white transfer paper. Digital Heat Transfer Printing is one of the most popular processes in the industry – unlike screen printing, there is no screen set up costs, and highly detailed prints, including shading and gradient effects, can be achieved.

Embroidery

Embroidery is a design stitched into fabric through the use of high-speed, computer-controlled sewing machines with needle and thread or yarn. A digitized tape is needed to embroidery. Embroidery may also incorporate other materials such as metal strips, pearls, beads, quills, and sequins. Embroidery is most often used on caps, hats, coats, blankets, dress shirts, denim, and sports shirts. Embroidery is available with a wide variety of thread or yarn color.

3D EMBROIDERY

3D ‘puff’ embroidery is a technique using die-cut foam as an underlay which is fused to a garments surface and stitched over to create a raised effect and add an extra dimension to a design. 3D embroidery works best on block letters or large rounded shaped artwork so the needles can perforate the corners and cover the foam completely. Regular embroidery is best used for more detailed designs.

Embossing/Debossing

Embossing and debossing are the processes of creating either raised or recessed relief images and designs in paper and other softer materials, such as rubber and leather. An embossed pattern is raised against the background, while a debossed pattern is sunken into the surface of the material, under high pressure. This method works particularly well when a more subtle branding effect is desired.

Hot Stamping

Hot stamping or Foil stamping is a printing method of relief printing in which predried ink or foils are transferred to a surface at high temperatures. The non-polluting method has diversified since its rise to prominence in the 19th century to include a variety of colors and processes.
